commercial and residential buildings, schools and universities, and hospitality clients. The company is
comprised of engineers and managers that bring the latest insights and expertise in energy systems.

A quality energy program begins with hard data and careful financial analysis, but it must be executed through exceptional client service. Our staff understands the fast-changing landscape of energy management, auditing, practical engineering, and the overlapping – sometimes conflicting – laws that govern the energy industry.
We contribute to the energy management & sustainability field in the following ways:

Our Team
The expertise offered by R3 Energy is mature, field-proven, and complimentary. Each individual makes
a unique contribution to the success of our clients' projects. Currently, R3 consists of 15 engineers,
managers and building auditors, backed by an extensive network of specialized investors, consultants,
installers, and other sub-contractors.
We have rich experience in energy systems, mechanical design and sustainability planning. Our diverse team includes Professional Engineers (PE), Mechanical Engineers (ME), Certified Energy Managers (CEM), LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED) and Facilities Specialists.
R3 Energy is a registered New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) partner, a registered New Jersey Pay for Performance (NJP4P) partner, a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and a member of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH). Our firm is also a certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise by the New York State Department of Economic Development, Division of Minority and Women’s Business Development (DMWBD).

Rudy W. Scholl – President
As President of R3 Energy, Rudy drives the company by offering customers new and compelling
alternatives in energy cost management. Rudy's extensive accomplishments and knowledge of energy
sales is built on 30 years of operations management. Following his education in Chemical Engineering
and Economics, he worked in operations and engineering for Stauffer Chemicals and Kramer Chemicals.
Rudy’s clients benefit from his significant track record in all areas of energy management such as energy
hedging, economic development incentives, energy bill review, contract development and negotiation,
and alternative energy solutions. He has extensive contacts in energy marketing and a respected
knowledge of energy saving approaches that have saved clients individually hundreds of thousands of
dollars in utility costs.
Tanya Scholl, LEED Green Associate - Director of Sales
Tanya is responsible for R3 Energy's revenue generation efforts as well as the strategic and operational
leadership of sales, marketing, and core services. In addition to driving the sales program, Tanya
manages customer service, and oversees the company’s operations and internal technology. Prior to
joining R3 Energy, Tanya was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley where she spent over 10 years in the
Fixed Income division as a salesperson on the High Yield Sales & Trading desk. Tanya helped build the
Leveraged Loan business. She covered over 65 clients including insurance companies, banks, CLOs, and
hedge funds that managed anywhere from $1BN-$5BN loan portfolios. She worked closely with Global
Capital Markets in selling various Morgan Stanley Lead and Joint Arranger deals including energy deals
such as: NRG Energy Inc., TXU Corp, and Astoria Generating Company Holdings, LLC. She holds a B.A.
from Binghamton University and received a continuing education degree from NYU in Credit Analysis.
Raymond Makul, BSEE, MBA, JD - Regulatory Affairs
As R3 General Counsel, Ray brings to R3 Energy the unique blend of electrical engineering, the business
acumen of an MBA, and the public policy expertise of an attorney with over 30 years experience in the
public utility regulatory arena. Prior to joining the firm, Ray was Director of the New Jersey Division
of Rate Counsel, directed utility operations in a large New Jersey oil refinery, and has served as an
independent consultant, throughout the USA and overseas, on matters involving regulatory policy,
utility rate setting, and negotiation of utility supply agreements on behalf of private clients. He has
helped spearhead the firm’s growth and has done extensive work on all of R3 Energy’s contracts. His
blend of education, professionalism, and practical experience, in combination with the other abilities of
R3 Energy, is unmatched in the marketplace.
Jennifer Williams - Director of Marketing
Jen oversees the firm’s marketing program. Her focus is on branding, research, and internal
communications. As R3 is entering its next wave of growth she is helping the firm become a
stronger organization by building deeper connections and relationships with customers and creating
measurements and analytics enabling marketing to become more effective and more accountable.
Prior to joining the company, she was Director of Sales for HedgeSpeed Technology, LLC launching a
proprietary software platform. She also has worked in the hedge fund sector for investment banks
Morgan Stanley and Barclays Capital, and has over 15 years experience in finance. She received her B.A.
from Binghamton University and has completed continuing education classes at NYU, Columbia, and
Harvard.
The History of R3 Energy
Rudy Scholl founded R3 Energy in 1997 and continues to serve as President. Rudy and the team have built an organization which currently serves three of NYC’s largest real estate developers and over 400 buildings in the tri-state area.
With an operational and industrial management background, Rudy developed an expertise in energy cost management services such as energy hedging, economic development incentives, energy bill review, contract development and negotiation, and – more recently – alternative energy solutions. He has saved clients individually hundreds of thousands of dollars in utility costs. His vision in engineering and financing has helped build a strong energy services firm.
Throughout the past 30 years Rudy’s mission has remained basically the same: to help clients make economic and lasting improvements in their buildings performance and to build a great firm that is able to attract and retain great people.
