Local Law 84: Benchmarking

Benchmarking reveals the relative efficiency of a building's underlying operational systems. It enables owners and managers to evaluate operational performance in comparison to similar buildings.

Benchmarking is mandatory under OneNYC. The benchmarking process allows building managers to view a usage profile of their buildings. This profile provides insight into which areas of consumption should be focused on to increase efficiency and provide a roadmap of potential capital improvement projects.

Following benchmarking analysis we can help management and the board focus their efforts through more comprehensive audits and recommendations of improvements. Benchmarking can also be used as a baseline for the building against which these future improvements and operational changes can be measured. Each year, the building can be benchmarked to see whether or not upgrades had the desired impact of energy use reductions. Talk to us.
